MMIS, Inc. is pleased to announce new features and functions to the MediSpend® Aggregate Spend platform.
MediSpend® (medispend0.wpengine.com) is a maintenance-free SaaS cloud-based compliance solution that enables pharmaceutical and medical device companies to track, aggregate and report all expenditures and transfers of value to healthcare professionals in a manner consistent with emerging state and federal regulatory requirements.
Based on feedback from industry and compliance experts at both pharmaceutical and medical device companies, the MMIS development team released improvements to the MediSpend® user interface by creating a compact and robust dashboard, on-demand report validation for all jurisdictions, real-time customer master updates, the ability to set multiple threshold limits and alerts for each covered recipient and enhanced the MediSpend® reference database which now includes a full 360 view for over 1.4M health care providers. “Utilizing a true SaaS platform allows us to remain true to our MediSpend® philosophy of providing application enhancements on-demand rather than waiting months for new product releases that are typical of most aggregate spend software solutions,” commented Michaeline Daboul, President of MMIS, Inc.
In its latest release, the MediSpend® on-demand report validation feature instantly checks all state and federal reports for errors and gaps and sends any incomplete report to a resolution center for review and correction by the Spend Administrator prior to government submission. This systematic review process reduces human error and ensures fully compliant reporting.
Customer master updating is new out-of-the-box feature of MediSpend®. During the pre-configuration phase of the MediSpend® application, a customized master database of speakers, advisors, customers and other health care professionals with whom our client conducts business is imported into the MediSpend ® application. Should the details of a spend transaction not match an existing recipient in the database, MediSpend® will search its internal reference database which includes over 1.4M HCPs for the correct recipient, and update the customer master database accordingly. This process is critical in the ongoing maintenance of the customer master, and assures correct recipient identification in real-time.
Medispend® also facilitates adherence to internal business rules through the use of spend limits and thresholds. The current release allows clients to set multiple spend limits for any nature or purpose across the customer master database. For example, individual recipients may be limited to one amount for speaking engagements, and another amount for travel. Limits can be set on an annual or per instance basis, with alerts automatically sent to concerned departments or individuals within our client’s organization.
