EPFIA recently consolidated the three EFPIA Codes (PO – HCP - Disclosure) into one simplified Code. The new code is located here.
The reasons for the new Code were “the simplification of concepts, the removal of repetitive provisions, and the clarification of the content”. EPFIA states: “This exercise has been conducted to update the Code provisions for a better concept alignment and to better promote the common understanding of the Code by stakeholders and the general public aiming to improve adherence to the Code.”
There is also a Scorecard for Meals and Drinks available, defining the threshold of the EFPIA Member Associations. Member Companies could use this when providing meals to HCPs, HCOs’ members or POs’ Representatives, as it indicates the allowed value of meals in the different countries (as set by the relevant Member Association in its National Code).
Further information about the new Code and additional guidance documents could be found here.
Per EFPIA, “member Associations are asked to transpose the revised Code provisions by 30 June 2020 and must implement it by no later than 31 December 2020."
The disclosure template, as added in the new Code in Annex A, is largely the same as the template in the current Code.
